In 1916, botanist Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) headed to the jungles of Brazil, seeking to prove that a legendary tree with miraculous healing properties was no mere myth. Chartering the steamboat of cranky captain Frank Wolff (Dwayne Johnson), her party will find endless perils from sources natural and mystical, as well as a fanatical German noble (Jesse Plemons) racing them for the prize.
